Because Avon went in a different direction artistically. Maitz was used by Lou Aronica when Lou was publisher at Bantam/Spectra. Now that Lou is running Avon, maybe we'll use Don again on future projects. For the time-being, however, the package for Avon has been working well. Remember, the purpose of cover art isn't to be "good art." It's to "sell books."
