What is a Fuller? From: Raymond Feist A fuller is one who fulls cloth. To full cloth is to make it heavier, by shrinking the fabric, then pounding it with hammers to make it denser, then pressing it out. Very common with wool. Best, R.E.F. From: Raymond Feist Pretty much you rid the fabric of air. The way you do it is to soak it, dry it out (shrink), then pound hell out of it with big ol' hammers (wood with copper bands, so wool (or other fabric) doesn't get damaged by metal). It drives the fibers closer together, which is why you get fabrics like felt. Now, I believe modern weaving sort of made it unnecessary. Best, R.E.F.
