Do you consider the reader when writing your plots ?

Nope.  I never think about who's reading the book when I write.  I write for myself.  Every writer is that way, unless they've been hired by someone else for a specific purpose, i.e. to do a novel about franchise characters, to novelize a film, etc. that precludes making certain dramatic choices.

Consider this: for every reader who has one opinion on some issue, there's another with an opposing view.  So your first BIG mistake is to consider "fans," as a homogeneous group.  EVERYTHING I do, will just about, upset some people and delights others.
