Where did the name Grindle come from, as in Helmut Grindle?

I have a friend who is HEAVY into Alsacian wines.  He's constantly bringing back wines I've never heard of.  I find them interesting, mostly French varieties (Pinot Noir, Pinot Gries, Chardonnay) done in a German style.  Very startling on the mouth if you've never tried them before.

Anyway, one of them had the name Grendle on the label.  That's where I got it. <G>

Besides, "Feist" is also Alsacian. <g>
