Do/did you use any formula for the names you use in your books?

No formula. Just make 'em up as I go. I think the reason you don't mind the combination of the exotic and mundane is I stared it from early on in Magician, with Martin, Fannon (common last name), Brian, Samuel tossed in with all the exotics. Also I present the culture as a melting pot, so lots of different sounding names makes sense.
