Return to Krondor Update

Here's more from Ray on RtK's status:

As best we can tell, and the system killers and game crashers have been found and eliminated.

We're working hard right now on play balance, and resource allocation.I'd say we're 90% there as of beta .95 and I just got .96 ten minutes ago and am now loading it on my other machine. Build .97 was just finished this morning in Cincy, and with any kind of luck, we'll go golden in a few more days.

Also, the new PC Gamer magazine features a two-page RtK advertisement. The lefthand page is Bear stabbing a map (take that, paper!) And the other has several screenshots and this text: 'Return to a land of intrigue and adventure. Lead your band of five characters on a quest to recover the Tear of the Gods, a mystical relic coveted by a madman bent on spreading darkness across the land of Midkemia. From the dizzying heights of Krondor's Palace, to the haunted depths of a temple dedicated to an evil as ancient as the gods themselves, never before has any RPG given you so much of what you need.' The logo is shown, with 'The offical sequel to the best selling RPG' under it. That's on page 310-311 for those of you who want to take a peek at your local bookstore.

Return to Krondor Release Date

Word from Sierra is that RtK's release date is holding steady at November 25, possibly earlier. Also, the site passed 19,000 hits today. That's not a whole lot for a year and a half, but the traffic has really picked up recently. Thanks for all your support, and keep coming back!

New Webring

Feist-site operators may want to check out the new Raymond E. Feist Webring.

Tears of Joy

Ray posted to the list yesterday that the working title for the third novel in the Riftwar Legacy is 'Tear of the Gods.' It will be based on Return to Krondor, and no, he has not started working on it yet (he is still writing 'Murder in Krondor'). Also, Ray said this in regard to RtK going gold:

We're getting close. Just a matter of days.

If you don't know, 'going gold' is computer lingo for a product finishing beta testing and going into production.

EOS Fantasy Website Contest

I've updated the KtB Website Contest page with the code and buttons and added the button to this site. Eos has created a nice new site for KtB, with the description from the inside cover. Please remember to vote for the Raymond E. Feist Internet Resource Index!
