I do short fiction infrequently. So far I've written two stories directly related to the Riftwar, The Messenger and The Wood Boy. I will probably do a few more then gather them in a single author anthology some day. However, my intention is that those stories will revolve around minor characters, probably never shown in the novels. I will certainly never write a short story about Mara, first because there's nothing more I wish to write about her, and second I would never do a Mara story without Janny's participation.
