What exactly are the Eldar?

As powerful, but different. Consider them ultra librarians. And they're all back in Elvandar now. This is shown a bit in Rage. One point I haven't made, and I don't know if there's an elegant way to bring up the point, but there never were that many of them. When Pug found the Eldar, there were maybe a couple of hundred, max, living on Kelwan. Despite their long lives, they were genetically coming to a dead end had they not returned to their kin.

The Eldar fled _from_ their master's sides during the Chaos Wars, to Kelewan, hiking across the Golden Bridge during the general confusion. No one noticed. The author reserved the right not to mention them during Pug's time on the Tower of Testing so the sharp eyed among you wouldn't sit up and exclaim, "Wait a minute! What are elves doing fleeing on the bridge from the Enemy? Could it be the Enemy and the Dragon Lords are the same thign?"
